If you’re clicking on this article, then there’s no need to explain why your pet is part of the Christmas celebration. Pets are, quite possibly, one of the coolest things about life. While the USA is the world leader in dog ownership at 69 million owners, the Philippines isn’t far behind at just five places below the USA. They light up your life, greet you when you come home and drive you so crazy you can’t help but love them. And if you haven’t got your dog in a Santa hat for Christmas, we actually feel a little sorry for you (you're missing out on a ton of cuteness). As a way of giving your furry pals a little more love this holiday season, make your puppers part of Christmas with these Christmas treats.

Holiday Dog Cookies

Every responsible pet owner knows that there are some foods that our dogs can’t consume. So why not whip up a batch of holiday cookies for your dog? This easy, tree-shaped cookie recipe is not only Christmas-friendly but also reduces bad breath, so everyone wins!

Cute Costume

Come on. You know you want to try it out!  There’s something so funny about dogs that dress up in costume that we’re sure you can’t resist stuffing one in your puppy’s stocking. Whether you choose a simple santa hat or the full monty, it’ll look good on Facebook. Trust us.

Bells and bows

Some pet stores actually sell bows and ornaments specifically for dogs—you can attach them to your dog’s collar or on to their long hair. Sure your pet may think something weird is going on, but it just makes things a bit more festive that way.

New Tennis Balls

As a little challenge for your pup, why not put the balls at the bottom of the stocking and challenge your dog to find the prize inside? It’s a lot of fun, and encourages them to sniff out their present.

Dog Bandana

One of our favorite pups on Instagram, @PopeyeTheFoodie (a rescue dog!) never goes around to his favorite restaurants without his signature bandana! It makes him look so sweet, and maybe your puppy would like a change of look over the holiday with a jaunty little bandana around his neck.

Puppy Toys

As with most items, toys for dogs have also started becoming seasonal, so make sure you pick up a high-level toy your dog will enjoy. Reindeer rope toy or a candy cane teething stick perhaps?

Don’t forget the stocking!

We would be remiss if we didn’t give you a couple of fun suggestions for the stocking itself. Check out these chic bone-shaped stockings by Bowkey Works or these personalized pet stockings available on Etsy.
