Traveling with Girlfriends: Top 5 Dream Destinations

Written by: Carla De Guzman/Wednesday, Jul 20, 2016 04:53 AM

So you’ve decided to travel with your best girl friends. That’s fantastic! There’s nothing more fun than experiencing a new place with a person who knows how important it is for you to take the perfect Insta-pic, or someone who is willing to try crazy food with you. Travelling with your girlfriends is an experience you can’t miss, and the planning of the trip can be just as fun! Before you go off booking a holiday, can we make a few destination suggestions? We promise they won’t disappoint!

1. London, England

If you and your friends have always wanted to live like queens, fly to London to spend an afternoon at Kensington Palace and take in the story of the former residents of what is now home to Duchess Kate, Prince William and Prince Harry. Having tea in The Orangery is a lovely experience too, but some still prefer to head over to Claridge’s for traditional high tea. Finery aside, London is a great place to catch a show on its glittering West End, to chat with your girlfriends while relaxing in Hyde Park or grab a bite to eat at their daily maker’s market, Borough Market

2. Prague, Czech Republic

There are two things that Prague is famous for - beer and Prague Castle - and you cannot miss either. Prague is a city of majestic old buildings and a long and beautiful history; exploring it is the greatest fun you can have here. Climb the steep steps up Letná Park for the beer garden with the best views the city can offer, or snap selfies at the famous Charles Bridge just as the sun sets. We recommend you grab a couple of Procscuitto di Praga, Trdelnik pastry and Medovnik Honey cake while you sit around the Old Town Square

3. Chiang Mai, Thailand

Bangkok is a shopper's paradise, but if you want a different experience of Thailand, why not catch a plane and head to Chiang Mai? The Chiang Mai Zoo and the Queen Siriki Botanic Garden are highly recommended for friends looking for a place to snap or ‘gram, or find a nice patio to sample some of their Khoa Soi, a curry noodle soup. Then there are the old temples for those who want to see more cultural things, or if you’re feeling adventurous, take a dip at the Grand Canyon where an old water-filled mine becomes everyone’s favorite swimming spot.

4. Kansai Region, Japan

Although a lot less busy than its capital city, Tokyo, there are still a lot of things that make the Kansai region one of our favorite destinations in Japan. Travellers from all over the world flock to the city for a chance to see the vermillion toris in Fushimi Inari. You can also try wearing traditional kimono and yukatas while wandering the Sannenzaka Stairs and meet up with some maikos for a photo. When you’re finished taking selfies with deer at Nara Park, make sure you sample some Daibutsu Puddinghonpo!

5. Seoul, South Korea

One of our favorite destinations, Seoul has a lot more to offer than great cherry blossom watching. Have fun biking around Yeouido Park or along Han River Park. When your girlfriends are looking for some traditional Korean food, we recommend a trip to the ultrea hip Hongdae University to try out grilled Korean meat like samgyupsal and chadol bagi, before you head off to a karaoke norebang to cap off the night. When you’re not exploring Seoul’s fantastic palaces (or taking the Secret Garden Tour at Changdeokgung), spend a whole day shopping to your hearts content of Korean cosmetics in Myeongdong or Ewha Woman’s University before stopping at the street food stalls that line the busy shopping streets for great Korean street eats.
