Cebu City is known for a lot of things—fantastic architecture, delicious food and bursting with creativity and fun. In this episode, we follow along as Pia meets up with Kenneth Cobonpue, and he shows off his favorite things about the Queen City. There’s no better way to see Cebu than with a proud Cebuano, the two of them travelling in style with a flashy red convertible.

Circa 1900
Pia meets up with Kenneth at the gorgeous property of Circa 1900, a cluster of old colonial houses that have been transformed into restaurants, a bakery and a chic events venue. Guests have raved about the tapas, risotto and the gorgeous venue itself.

The Kenneth Cobonpue Showroom
Famous around the world for making gorgeous furniture, Kenneth’s showroom is an explosion of creativity. Every nook and cranny is filled with Kenneth’s creations—including the famous, highly coveted Bloom chairs, the fun cotton clouds and the gorgeous peacock chairs.

Kenneth’s Home
After the showroom, Kenneth showed off his gorgeous, private collection of vintage cars. The 1974 Ferrari shows off the elegance of the design, and how chic it was to drive around in these gorgeous cars.

His home itself is modelled after a temple, with three sloping structures that followed along the trees already existing on the property. The house almost looks like a sleek, modern gallery, showing off Kenneth’s pieces alongside fantastic artwork against a glass background.

Mactan Channel
Cruising the Mactan channel seems to be a highlight of the Cebu experience. On a gorgeous boat, the channel just flows past, and the sunset is so close you can touch it.

Morals & Malice
When the sun is low and the night is still young, Cebu’s glitterati head to Morals and Malice in Banilad. The ‘morals’ side which serves up sunny, cheerful and innocent coffee and breakfast and the Malice Lounge, which is like a surrealist Dali-lit dream, with intricate fixtures and ornaments of bamboo and metals.

Abaca Cebu
The gorgeous exclusive resort in Mactan is known for its high style and famous flatbread pizzas. Made famous by a Hong Kong-based chef, even just coming in for the day to sample the restaurants’ wares make this place well worth the trip.

Cebu Safari
Who knew you could find a giraffe in Cebu? There are animals for everyone at the Cebu Safari in Carmel. The hundred hectare property is hoping to be a world class Safari land full of the most exotic of animals. The place is currently on soft opening.
