Small Things to be Grateful For

Sometimes, we get too stressed and caught up in our problems that we find it tough to take a moment to be grateful for the things that we have. However, it is always good to try and look past momentary troubles and try to find joy in the here and now, in moments and blessings, no matter how small.

If you're having a hard time thinking about what to be thankful for this year, we came up with a list of the little things we usually take for granted--brief moments, feelings, and everyday objects that can remind us that there's still a lot of good in the world to counter the negativity and the hurts.

We need only to pay attention and strive to recreate goodness in the spaces we move in.

 

Little Things to be Happy About:

 

1. That extra five minutes of sleep in the morning.

2. The smell of a book's leaves.

3. A warm cup of your favorite beverage on a cold night.

4. Finding spare change in your pocket when you need it the most.

5. A good hair day.

6. Days when you feel great in your own skin.

7. Friends who stand by you even when times are hard.

8. Pets to cheer you up at the end of a stressful day.

9. That feeling of calmness after a run or a workout.

10. Having people to love and share life's little moments with.

11. Watching a beautiful sunset.

12. Sand between your toes at the beach.

13. Having a good cup of coffee or tea on a particularly sleepy day.

14. Slipping into pajamas after a long day at work.

15. Random acts of kindness from strangers.

16. A good pint of ice cream and a nice movie to watch.

17. Spontaneous catch-ups with friends.

18. Staying up late reading a book.

19. Waking up refreshed after a good nap.

20. That feeling on your fingers after cutting your nails.

21. Laughing at cat videos on YouTube.

22. Tuning in just in time for your favorite TV show.

23. Having enough money to buy lunch.

24. Your job, and doing what you love.

25. Finding jeans that fit perfectly.

26. Finally getting to eat what you've been craving for.

27. A bed to sleep on at night.

28. Getting to buy the pair of shoes you've been ogling for so long.

29. The drink of water when you wake up very thirsty in the middle of the night.

30. A slice (or three) of your favorite pizza.

31. Stumbling upon an interesting website/Youtube channel on a lazy day.

32. Not having to set an alarm the next morning.

33. Long baths/showers that allow you to contemplate life.

34. Finding something you planned to buy marked down/on sale.
